Health management

University Health Management (HGM) includes measures to maintain and promote the health and well-being of employees and students at Ostfalia University. The university therefore supports the Healthy Ostfalia initiative. In doing so, we support you in reducing stress at work and study and strengthening health resources. We want to maintain and improve your health and motivation in the long term through good working and study conditions.

If you have any ideas for a healthier working environment, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Our goals

Mental and physical stress and strain are also present in everyday university life. Against this background, Ostfalia offers you various opportunities to participate. Healthy Ostfalia aims to support all members of the university in maintaining and promoting their health.

  • Promote and strengthen the health competence of employees and students in the long term;
  • enable health-promoting living, working and studying;
  • develop a health-promoting university culture and implement the value of "health" in the university culture;
  • recognise and prevent physical and mental health hazards at the workplace and place of study and reduce or eliminate them as far as possible.

You can find out what this means in concrete terms under "our services".

Our offers

The programmes offered by Healthy Ostfalia are based on the prevention guidelines of the leading health insurance associations and the 81st agreement of the NPersVG. The focus is on behavioural and situational prevention.

Our health programmes are aimed at all employees and students.

Health promotion for more exercise and relaxation

Musculoskeletal and cardiovascular diseases continue to top the list of the most common illnesses due to one-sided stress and strain on physical abilities. However, according to the WHO (World Health Organisation), chronic stress and burnout are also considered to be the greatest health risks of the 21st century. Stress is one of the causes of almost 70 per cent of all illnesses. Recent studies on the mental health of students and employees clearly show that working and study conditions are becoming more difficult.

Various courses/workshops are organised during the semester. You can register for these courses via the University Sports Centre. There you will find the health promotion programmes under the heading "BGF". (external link, opens in a new window)
