Institute for Vehicle System and Service Technologies (IFST)

The IFST is a modern service centre at the Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences in Wolfsburg.

The importance of electronics and computer science in the field of automotive engineering has been steadily increasing for years. Already more than 90% of innovations in the automobile are predominantly determined by electronics, with the topic of "software" becoming increasingly important. This leads to a growing demand in the industry for engineers with the appropriate qualifications.

IFST has set itself the task of taking this development into account when training engineers. We offer the bachelor's degree programmes "Automotive Mechatronics and Informatics" and "Automotive Mechatronics and Informatics in a Practical Network".

Graduates are thus optimally prepared for the requirements of the labour market. Our employees have the necessary technical background thanks to their experience in industry and research. In order to remain at the cutting edge of technology, we always seek contact and co-operation with those companies in the region that are active in the automotive sector, whether in the fields of development, production or service technologies in the after-sales area relating to the automobile. We are also active as a service provider for other degree programmes at the Faculty of Automotive Engineering in subjects such as mathematics, electrical engineering, computer science, vehicle diagnostics and expert services.
