More than 300 universities have been committed to the Deutschlandstipendium for over ten years. Ostfalia has been involved from the very beginning and has already been able to congratulate around 600 students on receiving a scholarship since the 2011/2012 winter semester. This year too, around 100,000 euros were awarded in the form of scholarships to 30 students. The newly selected scholarship holders, who come from all twelve faculties of the university at the Wolfenbüttel, Wolfsburg, Salzgitter and Suderburg campuses, receive a monthly grant of 300 euros over a period of one year - half of which is funded by the federal government and half by regional partners.

The Deutschlandstipendium scholarship programme supports talented and committed students. In addition to good academic performance and social commitment, the funding programme also takes social aspects into account, such as overcoming biographical obstacles due to origin.

On 6 November 2025, the traditional Matching Evening took place at the Wolfenbüttel Am Exer campus, where scholarship holders and sponsors usually meet for the first time to get to know each other personally. The guests were welcomed by Prof Dr Thomas Benda, Vice President for Teaching, Studies and Continuing Education at Ostfalia. "It is not always easy to get involved in social and voluntary work alongside the other obligations that all of us have on a daily basis, and this commitment is often not recognised in the way it deserves. I am therefore all the more pleased that the scholarship holders who have been honoured today can have a few obstacles removed from their path. On behalf of the university, I would like to thank our scholarship donors, the companies and the foundations that are supporting the Deutschlandstipendium at Ostfalia this year for their generosity," said Benda.

With the Deutschlandstipendium, private sponsors and the federal government work together to support young talent. these sponsors are involved in 2025:

AWO-Bezirksverband Braunschweig e.V., Erich-Zillmer-Stiftung, Stiftergemeinschaft der Hochschulstiftung Gifhorn-Wolfsburg, Lions Club Wolfenbüttel, Niedersächsische Lotto-Sport-Stiftung, Ostfalia-Hochschulstiftung, Paritätischer Wohlfahrtsverband, PKF Fasselt Partnerschaft mbB, Sartorius Corporate Administration GmbH, Soroptimist Club Braunschweig, Städtisches Klinikum Wolfenbüttel, Stadtbetriebe Wolfenbüttel, Stadtwerke Wolfenbüttel, Verein zur Förderung der Fakultät Versorgungstechnik e.V.
