Sustainability is a necessity - also in the healthcare sector. But how are the principles of sustainability implemented? How sustainable is the German healthcare system?
Four different speakers from the fields of health insurance, long-term care, hospital care and childhood education will report on this at the "Sustainability in Healthcare" symposium at Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences on the Wolfsburg campus on Friday, 7 November 2025.
The conference is being planned and organised by a student project group from the 5th semester of the "Management in Healthcare" degree programme.
Dennis Schilde from the health insurance sector will be among those taking part. He will give an overview of sustainable action in a changing healthcare system. Prof Dr Günter Meyer, Dean of the Faculty of Healthcare, will report on the topic of climate change and sustainability in long-term care. Yvonne Sacht, Head of the Ehmen Climate Daycare Centre, and her colleague Lina Nolte will provide insights into sustainability in practice at the daycare centre. For the hospital sector, Prof. Dr Christoph Wiese will take a look at medical care in hospitals and discuss conflicts between sustainability and hygiene.
The symposium on 7 November 2025 will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Wolfsburg Campus (Room G116), Poststraße 19. Participation is free of charge. Registration is requested.
