Specialisation options

  • Focus on energy technology: This involves, for example, the creation of economically and ecologically justified energy concepts, such as the ability to assess and optimise the use of state subsidy systems for the rational use of energy and the use of renewable energy sources.
  • Focus on environmental technology: This involves, for example, the restructuring of operational processes within production and waste disposal under the requirements of the circular economy and with regard to the design of logistics processes or the certification and auditing of companies in accordance with European environmental and quality standards.
  • Focus on building technology: This involves the technical infrastructure of modern buildings and their sustainable use, such as heating, ventilation, air conditioning, sanitary facilities, the supply of electrical energy and the integrated control and regulation of building functions.
  • Focus on bioeconomy: This involves the use of bio-based (and therefore regenerative) raw materials as a substitute for raw materials from fossil sources, both for mass applications (e.g. wood or bio-based plastics) and for special applications (e.g. enzymes, fine chemicals).

Study programme

  • 1.-3rd semester foundation programme
  • 4.-7th semester specialised studies including Bachelor's thesis and colloquium
    If you start in the summer semester, the duration of study may be extended by one semester

Specialised practical activity

  • Six weeks basic internship, ideally before the start of the programme.
  • Seven weeks of specialised internship. The entire internship period must be completed by the time you register for your Bachelor's thesis.
